term-trader | a Retro Game

It's retro time! Term trader is a trading simulator that is playable in a terminal!

Long ago there were games that didn’t even have graphics. They were entirely text based. Besides pure text adventures some even had text-based graphics, aka ASCII art. These text-based games were sort of popular in the 80s, but there are also modern text-based games such as the rogue-like games Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup and Dwarf Fortress.

After enjoying both previously mentioned modern games (I wasn’t around for the older ones), I thought; why not write my own text-based game? And of course I didn’t want to just clone any of those games, so I came up with a fresh idea: a text-based trading simulation game! And thus, term-trader was born!

It became more of a text adventure than I initially meant it to be, but I didn’t find the time to implement a better more “graphical” user interface yet. Still; It’s really enjoyable just the way it is!
